HWHL Points Today - 40 (75 total this session) I did everything today, including an extra 45 min of exercising and posting on the HWHL blog
Exercise - I walked 1/4 mile to warm up, then ran a mile in 15:37, faster than I did yesterday. Then an hour later, I did the Zumba class. I was more coordinated today. The instructor repeated a lot of the same steps, so I caught on faster. It's a great workout, I was sweating like crazy by the end, but I still had fun. Thank heaven for teenagers during the summer. I'm going to have to find a sitter in the fall for Emma and Sammy, so I can still do the class.
Well, I did better with my calories today, eating pretty close to my range without going over. I had enough calories left that I had a decadent dessert, something called Hummingbird Cake from one of my visiting teachers. It's a thick, but moist, banana nut cake with cream cheese frosting, and then I added 1/2 cup of vanilla bean ice cream. Yummy in my tummy!
I don't always love eating healthy or exercising, but I do love the effect they have on me, physically as well as mentally. I just feel so strong and ready to face the world each day, confident that I can handle what comes at me.
Some friends from my Zumba class. Left to right - Nicole, Nicole's Mom Lisa, Megan, and me. I told Dani tonight, "See, Nicole went to Zumba, you should try it too." She grudgingly consented to go Thursday. I hope she does! She might have a lot of fun!
See, pigging out (reunion) every once in awhile is totally good for you! And doing new things with your exercise and introducing interval training like you have on the treadmill will boost your metabolism and get you past the plateau.
ReplyDeleteLiving healthy is not always easy, but like the bumper sticker says, "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels". It's totally a mental decision to be in control and the effects go far beyond the physical.
